How to plan multi-city flights from the UK to Africa
Build an Africa itinerary with real stopovers, different-city returns and clear ticket protection.

Write the trip as dated flights
Use one line per flight, with the city, travel date and nights at the next stop. London–Accra for three nights, Accra–Lagos for ten nights, then Lagos–London is a multi-city request. A London–Lagos fare with a short Accra connection is a different journey. A transit airport does not automatically become a permitted holiday stop.
Compare an open-jaw itinerary
For Nairobi and Mombasa, or Johannesburg and Cape Town, compare arriving in one city and flying home from the other. Tell us whether you want the internal flight included or will arrange the intercity journey yourself. The quote should identify any surface sector so it is not mistaken for included transport.
One itinerary can contain separate tickets
A single agency email or booking reference does not by itself establish through-ticket protection. Ask which flight sectors share a ticket, where baggage must be collected and who pays if a late arrival causes a missed separate flight. Review entry requirements for each country where you clear immigration.
Find value across the complete journey
Price both directions, regional legs, baggage, stopover hotels, transfers and change fees. A cheap UK gateway flight can lose its advantage when the missing regional flight is added. Consider reversing the order of your cities when your arrangements allow it; do not assume the reverse routing costs the same.

Can I book London to Lagos with a stopover in Accra?
Request Accra as a dated stay and Lagos as the next destination. Specify three nights in Accra, for example, and your Lagos arrival deadline. We can compare a through fare allowing that stop with a multi-ticket alternative. Availability, airline combinations and entry permission must be checked before purchase.
What should I send for Birmingham–Johannesburg–Cape Town flights?
List the Birmingham departure date, the Johannesburg-to-Cape Town date, and the preferred UK return date. State whether the last flight should leave Cape Town. Include the bags needed on the domestic leg and any separate safari, cruise or family commitments that cannot move.
Can an independent travel agent combine different airlines to West Africa?
An agency can compare combinations, but airline participation and fare rules determine whether they can be issued together. Ask for a clear distinction between one ticket and separate tickets. The name of the agent does not change the protection attached to the actual travel contract.
